I am Workamping in Yellowstone National Park for 3 months with Delaware North Company in a General Store. I've had time to really discover the park and all its beauty that it would take years of coming here for a few days at a time. It has truly been a blessing. I have met a lot of wonderful people from all walks of life - young and old - that go from season to season doing all kinds of things.
What an excellent way for people to travel and is a second career for some.
I put a resume together after trying to find out what I really wanted to do. I was a nurse in the ER for a couple decades and am now enjoying the freedom that I've always set as my goal. Loved to travel, but not much opportunity for 20 years.
I was so busy with my career, raising my boys, and once the last son was graduating, I put the house up for sale. Bought our RV, flew from MN to CA and took a month coming back. I knew this was for me.
I am 56 and hubby is 63. We sold our home and gave away most of our stuff one year ago. We have been Workamping since then. I haven't looked back. This gives us the freedom to travel the country and be with family that we wouldn't have been able to visit before. And the best part is I get to be with my grandchildren! We have worked at 2 amusement parks. They are hard work, but I love it. I go to bed at night thanking God for guiding us to this lifestyle. Two years ago, we couldn't imagine we could pull it off, but we did! Don't wait 'till it is to late. Just do it!

My husband and I were Workampers for almost 20 years!! LOVED every minute of it!! We worked in some really great places and in some not so great places. We feel that some employers try to take advantage of the less expensive labor of a Workamper, because, let's face it, we don't do it to get rich in money. We did it to get rich with memories, and it worked!! We belonged to Workamper News most of that time, and NEVER had a problem finding a job anywhere we wanted to go.
