"Pasttimes" AA Resume

Robert and Judy posted their resume in Awesome Applicants for the first time this season. One week later they had a job.

Awesome Applicants is a very effective tool for getting job offers for some Workampers. Robert and Judy used it for the first time and quickly found a job. They agreed to allow their resume to be posted here.


SUMMARY

We are both lifelong campers beginning with a screen house to the present Motor Home and we both love to travel. We have stayed in many campgrounds over the years and being camp host is something we both enjoy. We love the deep woods, i.e. trees, shade, forest and though we live near a large lake (Lake Livingston) we are not fishermen. We have been married for 45 years and have 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters. Robert is age 66 and Judy is age 67. We have lived in Livingston, Texas all our lives and at this same residence for 30 years.

WORK HISTORY

Robert worked lifelong in the family business, Blackstock Auto Salvage, Inc. until the business was sold in 1990. Position...General Manager, Telephone Circuit and buyer. Judy worked as a Secretary/Bookkeeper for United Gas - 2 years, Webster Abstract - 2 years, Livingston Independent School District - 10 years, and Blackstock Auto Salvage - 16 years. Today we have a small Arts & crafts Business named 'Pasttimes'.

WORKAMPER EXPERIENCE

Campground Host 2002 for San Juan Mountain Campgrounds on Vallecito Lake near Durango, Colorado. Workamper position 2003 - Cloquet/Duluth KOA in Cloquet, Minnesota and Custer Crazy Horse Kampground in Custer, South Dakota. Workamper position 2005/2006 – Aud & di Campground Services, Dixie National Forest Pine Valley Recreation Area near St. George, Utah. Area Managers for Pine Valley District. We both have experience in cabin cleaning, restroom cleaning, laundry cleaning, and pool maintenance. Robert has experience in grounds keeping, painting, light carpenter work and customer relations. Judy has office experience with and without computer registration, reservations, and storekeeping. Managerial experience included managing 6 campgrounds with a host in each, an entrance booth including work schedules and all bookkeeping, banking, purchasing of supplies for the district.

EDUCATION

Robert and Judy both graduated from Livingston High School then attended Sam Houston State University.

RV INFORMATION

We travel in a 1998 Winnebago Chieftain - 33' with living room slide and would like to have electricity if full hookups are unavailable. Traveling with us will be our dog, Twill, and cat, Mossy. We tow a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.

HEALTH

Robert is a cancer survivor. The only limitation from this is that it is necessary he watch heavy lifting over 50 lbs. Otherwise his health is very good. Judy is in very good health. We have worked at an altitude of 8000 + feet with no problem. We are both non-smokers.
