Minnesota. The Bay Area Historical Society's purpose is to preserve and promote the history of the Silver Bay and Beaver Bay, Minnesota area, and to give assistance to visitors in locating historical sites and information. Beaver Bay, Minnesota was the first established community on the Minnesota shore of Lake Superior.
