Live on the grounds of our living history museum in your RV or in our Caretaker's House while interacting with guests, keeping the gift shop open, and doing chores around the grounds. USFS Glenwood & Pedlar Ranger Districts

Virginia. Spend time in the Virginia Blue Ridge Mtns. Volunteers are needed April 1 - Oct. 31 for Sherando Lake Recreation Area near Waynesboro, Cave Mountain Lake Recreation Area near Natural Bridge, and North Creek Campground near Buchanan. Intnl Missionary Fellowship

Connecticut. Volunteer Workampers needed at Hop Brook Lake, in Middlebury, CT.  This 532-acre, Corps of Engineers Park’s amenities include swimming, picnicking, hiking, fishing, and biking in a well-maintained recreation area. We need 2 energetic and fun individuals or couples to assist from May - September. Workdays are negotiable, and a minimum of 24 hours weekly is required. This is a non-compensable position, in exchange for RV site with water & sewer, electric, and laundry facility on premises, storage, and trash pickup. USACE Holt Resource Office

Alabama. USACE Holt Lake near Tuscaloosa, AL, is looking for Park Hosts and Gatehouse Attendants to staff 3 different parks. Seasonal (minimum 90-day commitment) and year-round positions available. Positions are available at Deerlick Creek Campground, Burchfield Branch Campground, and Rocky Branch Swim Beach. Volunteers will be expected to work approximately 20 hours per week and must provide their own RV. Schedule is 3 days on, 6 days off or may be fixed. Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife

Oregon. Apply now for 2023 and remaining 2022 Volunteer Host openings at Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife (ODFW).  If you like working outdoors, especially groundskeeping, we may be a good fit. Live, work, play at hatcheries, wildlife areas, and offices all around Oregon. These are not campgrounds - most do not require cleaning public restrooms and have limited public contact. Requires a self-contained RV and full hookups are provided in exchange for volunteer (unpaid) service. Interpretive Hosts: 3-days on, 3-days off, 6-hour shifts. Teams of two required. North Dakota State Parks

North Dakota. North Dakota's 13 State Parks have just what you need to connect with the great outdoors and other outdoor enthusiasts as a Campground Host. This program offers volunteers full-service camping for the duration of their stay in exchange for performing a wide range of host duties including welcoming visitors, monitoring campgrounds, completing light maintenance, selling firewood, or assisting with special events. Red Rock Ranger Dist / Coconino Natl Forest

Arizona. Sedona, Arizona. Red Rock Ranger District is looking for volunteer couples for site host duties at beautiful Palatki and V Bar V Heritage Sites. Asking for three-month commitment. Four days a week. Openings available May 2023 through 2027. Work is a combination of duties, welcoming visitors, archaeological site interpretation with some maintenance duties. California. Lake Kaweah in California is now accepting applications for the 2023 year. Campground Host positions are 4/6-month commitments. The Recreation Area Ambassador position is a 3/6-month commitment. The hours are 20-25 hrs a week. A host site with full hookup is reserved for volunteers. The area is in a great location. Four hours to the Bay Area or to the Los Angeles area. There are four National Parks, one National Monument, one National Forest, three USACE lakes, BLM area, the central coast, all within an approx. 3-hour drive. Wolf Creek Grist Mill

USACE Albeni Falls Dam

Idaho.  Scenic north Idaho campgrounds now accepting volunteer applications for summer 2023! The Albeni Falls Dam Project has multiple positions open in three campgrounds: Albeni Cove, Priest River, and Springy Point, all nestled in the Rocky Mountains along the striking Pend Oreille River. Kansas. USACE Clinton Lake, Kansas: One volunteer maintenance position available with the Corps of Engineers, beginning April 2023 and lasting until November 2023. The position will involve general campground maintenance including carpentry, pruning, landscaping, mowing, and painting. USACE Alabama River Lakes / R.E. Bob Woodruff Lake

Alabama. Needed host volunteer gate attendants, Prairie Creek US Army Corps of Engineers Campground on the beautiful Alabama River near R.F. Henry Lock and Dam. Site with all utilities provided including sewer hookup. MUST LOVE PEOPLE, DEER, and other wildlife. Wonderful, secluded, secure, tree-covered campground with launching ramp and lots of good fishing. 4-days on with periodic patrols, 4-free days off. USACE Burnsville Lake

West Virginia. Burnsville Lake is recruiting volunteers for the 2023 recreation season (April - November). Multiple positions available. Duties: Will assist with operation of the visitor center and general maintenance at the Bulltown Historical Area. Typical volunteer duties include staffing visitor center, giving tours, providing living history, mowing, string trimming, cleaning facilities and grounds, painting, light carpentry, and general maintenance support. Must be able to function in a team environment, without friction. Selected persons will be given a full hookup campsite at Bulltown Campground for providing at least 24 hours of work per week. USACE Lake Red Rock

Iowa. Volunteer service at USACE Lake Red Rock. Workampers fill 33 service positions at Lake Red Rock in central Iowa. For the 2023 season, we are currently looking to fill 6 volunteer positions. Our amazing volunteer team provides essential services such as custodial work, fee booth hosting, visitor center staffing, light maintenance, and educational programming. USACE Black Butte Lake

California. US Army Corps of Engineers scenic Black Butte Lake located in northern California is looking for dependable and enthusiastic volunteers. Duties include camp hosting, cleaning firepits, picking up litter, painting, weed-eating, and reporting damage. Other duties may be assigned based on volunteer's interests and skills. Volunteers are expected to work at least 25 hours per week, on weekends, and holidays. A campsite with full hookups is provided in lieu of payment for work. A federal background check is required. Florida. Step back in time in sunny central Florida and help us teach school children about the days of old. You will love our friendly, peaceful atmosphere while demonstrating candle making, woodworking, blacksmithing, weaving, and more. Other duties include kitchen management, groundskeeping, light cleaning, and maintenance. Texas. Immediate openings for Volunteer Christian couples and singles to serve in our ministry at Trinity Pines Conference Center (TPCC) north of Houston, TX. TPCC is a beautiful, 500-acre, 750-bed facility on Lake Livingston hosting Christian ministry camps and retreats. We offer shaded, FHU (30/50) campsites, laundry, WiFi, and meals when campers are present in exchange for 20 hours per person per week. A variety of work is waiting to be matched to your skills and interests. We need volunteers all year, so our start dates and service commitments are flexible, with a 2-month minimum. Missouri. Volunteers are needed for the Harry S. Truman Corps Campgrounds in Warsaw, Missouri.  The volunteer work would entail greeting and assisting many visitors with a professional and enthusiastic demeanor, operating the R1S system for reservations, grounds upkeep, cleaning restroom facilities, and being available for learning any new task or skill that is asked of them. This position will come with a  campsite and a prosperous volunteer opportunity with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. California. USACE Lake Mendocino/Coyote Valley Dam is looking for passionate and experienced Volunteer Campground Hosts for the summer of 2023! USACE Lake O' the Pines

Texas. Volunteer park hosts needed at Lake O' the Pines in the Piney Woods near historic Jefferson, TX. Campgrounds: Alley Creek, Brushy Creek, Buckhorn Creek, Johnson Creek. A shaded, full hookup campsite is provided (water, 50 amp electric, sewer). In exchange, park hosts will work 2 set days a week and every third Sunday. Duties include processing incoming campers and keeping track of park status. City of Riverbank

California. The City of Riverbank, CA, is seeking a park host for Jacob Myers Park, a 28-acre park along the Stanislaus River. Volunteer position in return for a full hookup. A stipend is negotiated depending on duties assigned. Typical duties include opening and closing park, restroom cleaning, litter pickup, and monitoring park rules and capacity. Illinois. Beautiful Lake Shelbyville is looking for dependable, hardworking volunteers to join our team! Must be a team player. Positions available for the 2023 recreation season, mid-April - mid-October. Vacancies include campground cleaning, campground mowing, visitor center host, and recreation area information host. Located in central Illinois with 11,100 acres of lake to explore by boating, fishing, hiking, biking, paddling, swimming, and, of course, camping! USACE Cape Cod Canal

Massachusetts. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Cape Cod Canal. Spend the summer enjoying beautiful Cape Cod. Work with us mid-April thru mid-October as a Park Attendant. Be part of an amazing team responsible for maintaining day-use recreation areas along the Cape Cod Canal.
Responsibilities include opening, closing, and cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, cleaning picnic tables and benches, picking up litter, light maintenance, greeting the public, and providing information. 8 contracted and 2 volunteer positions available. USACE Eufaula Lake

Oklahoma. Volunteer opportunities: The Eufaula Lake Project office seeks out volunteer services constantly. Eufaula Lake encompasses 102,000 acres of water and operates 12 serviceable campgrounds. Anyone can become a volunteer at Eufaula Lake. Persons of all ages and abilities have something valuable to contribute. Applicants under 18 must have parental or legal guardian consent. Full-time campground volunteers work 24 hours a week for payment of a campsite in the respective park where they are volunteering at. Bay Shore Camp and Family Ministries

Michigan. Bay Shore Camp and Family Ministries, a Christian ministry in Sebewaing, Michigan, has openings for summer 2023. Primary duties in maintenance/grounds, housekeeping, or the camp office, with possible duties serving meals, helping with camper check-in/check-out, running mini-golf, or the camp store. USACE Lake Ouachita

Arkansas.  USACE Lake Ouachita, located near Hot Springs, Ar, is looking for energetic volunteers (May 2023 - October 2023) to serve as campground hosts providing visitor information 3-4 days/week at park attendant booths located in Brady Mountain, Crystal Springs, Joplin,  Tompkins Bend, and Denby Point Recreation Areas. Volunteers will provide 20 hrs/week of service on a set schedule in exchange for a full hookup campsite. Lake Ouachita, with 40,000 acres of crystal-clear water and over 200 islands, is a premier recreation destination. Arkansas. Volunteer needed for janitorial and campsite host at the Arkansas Post Field Office. Janitorial volunteer will provide cleaning services including restrooms, offices, kitchen, work areas, parking lots, compound buildings, and grounds. 20 hours per week. Campsite with electric and sewer provided. Janitorial days off: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Janitorial work will be performed from September 2022 through September 2023. Georgia. US Army Corps - Allatoona Lake is seeking Park Attendants and Volunteers for summer 2023. A variety of positions are available: Campground Volunteer Hosts and Day-Use Volunteer Park Hosts. Several general maintenance volunteer and park host volunteer positions are also available for spring-summer 2023 at Cottage Grove, Dorena, and Fern Ridge reservoirs. Typical activities include: assisting campers, using computers, minor maintenance, small equipment operations, opening and closing gates, or assisting visitors. Duties include, but are not limited to, staffing the entrance booth, collecting user fees, selling annual passes, answering visitors' questions, and assisting Corps staff as needed. Idaho. USACE Dworshak Dam and surrounding recreation areas. Dworshak Dam holds back the North Fork of the Clearwater River creating a 54-mile-long reservoir with plenty of recreational opportunities for everyone. We are looking for volunteers to join our staff in visitor center operations, maintenance (janitorial/groundskeeping), and campground fee attendant positions for this summer. We are specifically recruiting volunteers starting in mid-May extending through Labor Day. We can be flexible on start and finish dates.
