Meet Jaimie Hall Bruzenak: RV Lifestyle Expert
Jaimie Hall Bruzenak and her late husband, Bill Hall, began traveling full-time in an RV in 1992. Their first jobs were at Grand Teton National Park as seasonal workers for the National Park Service. Between them in the next ten years, they worked at seven national parks in maintenance and as an interpretive ranger; at a houseboat company; sold Christmas trees; and worked in the tourist industry. Jaimie also worked one tax season in an accounting office. Her favorite position was working in Skagway, Alaska at Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park giving guided walks through town, a program in the visitor center and assisting visitors from all over the world.
After eight years as full-time RVers, Jaimie and Bill bought a home-base in Arizona and traveled and workamped part-time. Jaimie authored “Support Your RV Lifestyle! An Insider’s Guide to Working on the Road” in 2002 (now available in its’ third edition) and shifted her focus to writing and marketing her books. She has written four others with her writing partner, Alice Zyetz: “ RV Traveling Tales: Women’s Journeys on the Open Road,” “The Woman’s Guide to Solo RVing,” “ Retire to an RV: The Roadmap to Affordable Retirement” and “Taking the Mystery out of RV Writing.” Bill passed away in 2004. Jaimie now travels with her husband, George Bruzenak.
Jaimie also is the editor of our Workamper Viewpoint and writes a regular column for us. Jaimie also presents seminars on Workamping at RV educational events and job fairs and writes for other publications. In addition, she maintains her own website and publishes RV Lifestyles, a bimonthly ezine. As she and George travel in their RV, they enjoy meeting Workampers and looking for unusual places and ways to work or volunteer on the road.
Jaimie will be presenting at the upcoming Workamper Rendezvous in Heber Springs, October 18th and 19th — “Workamping Basics: Seven Steps to Finding a Workamping Job.” On October 20th, she will be presenting “Workamper Resumes” at two different times during the seminar.
On October 21st, you can join Jaimie for in-depth instruction in finding the RIGHT job. Not just any job, but one that is a match! Sewie Pigs are being Adopted: DNA is pure American!
We are proud that our Sewie Pigs are made entirely in the USA. Sure, they could be manufactured for less overseas, but we think it’s worth paying a little more, knowing that products are American made. Piglet No. 17 — is named Mellen — a nickname derived from Mary Ellen (mother’s name) and because she is shaped like a melon! She does such a good job of holding down the fort…I mean, sewer hose. She is much more attractive than that concrete block we used to use.
Branded with a WN insignia, and certified with a Sewiepig Adoption Certificate, she can be identified immediately if lost, as belonging to a particular Workamper family.
His or her purpose? Simply fill your Sewie Pig with water to add about 20 pounds weight and place at the end of your sewer hose where it is inserted into the campground wastewater discharge hole. Eliminate a real mess if your hose were to pop out, which it often does without a weight to hold it down. Sewie Pig is designed to fit perfectly over your sewer hose.
Merging fun with the practical–that’s my idea of a good product! Adopt your very own Sewie Pig today!

Big Rigs Best Bets Campground Directory
Eleventh edition – released in 2011. If you drive or haul an RV longer than 32 feet, then many campgrounds cannot accommodate your rig. After a long day of driving, it’s no fun to learn that the park you selected can’t squeeze you in either because of your rig’s length or its multiple slideouts. Ten years ago, full-time RVers Ken and Ellie Hamill decided it was time to do something to help other owners of large RVs. The result was their Big Rigs Best Bets campground directory, which lists over 1,200 parks throughout 49 states and seven Canadian Provinces that eagerly accept large RVs.
Precise and detailed “dead on” directions from an RVer’s point of view. For the convenience of GPS users, the park’s physical addresses are also included. Time to fuel up? No surprises at the 532 paved and maneuverable fuel stops which we have personally used or observed. Don’t overlook the 244 notable restaurant tips. A variety of establishments they have personally experienced and recommend for your enjoyment. A user-friendly guide – lays flat, quality paper and large print. 497 pages. Written by Ken & Ellie Hamill. Purchase this month and save $3.74.
Also on Sale:
Traveler’s Guide to Mexican Camping
Fourth Edition. Now includes Guatemala! Explore Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize with your RV or Tent. One of the world’s most interesting and least expensive travel destinations is just across the southern U.S. border. Mexico offers warm, sunny weather all winter long, beautiful beaches, colonial cities, and excellent food. Best of all, you can easily and economically visit Mexico in your own car or RV! Instructions for crossing the border – includes detailed information about every important crossing and recommendations for the best places to cross with large RVs. There are now detailed descriptions of almost four hundred campgrounds, many not in the previous edition. This edition includes information that will help drivers of large RVs decide which campgrounds will work best for them. This indispensible guide also includes information about important cities, tourist destinations, roads and driving, trip preparation, vehicle care, shopping, entertainment, and sports opportunities. Paperback. 575 pages. Written by Mike and Terri Church.
