in employment opportunities with DNCPR-Sequoia. DNCPR is the authorized
National Park Service concessioner providing visitor services and facilities
inside Sequoia National Park. Facilities include: Wuksachi Lodge
featuring a new year-round lodge, full service restaurant, gift shop,
and conference center. Lodgepole Center with grocery,
sporting goods, snack bar, gift shop, public laundry and showers. Bearpaw High Sierra Camp offering
a full service back country camping experience. Employment with DNCPR within
Sequoia National Park will provide you with the opportunity to serve visitors
from around the world in a unique ecosystem found nowhere else on earth.

In 1877, John Muir climbed Converse
Basin and discovered a sawmill established to process lumber from the Sequoia
Groves prompting a strong lobbying effort to save the trees. President Benjamin
Harrison signed the bill in 1890 that established Sequoia National Park
as California's first national park and the United States second national
park. Today, Sequoia National Park is home to the General Sherman Tree,
at 2.7 million pounds, by volume the largest living tree on earth. Mt. Whitney
crowning the Sierra Nevada, at 14,494 feet, it is the tallest mountain in
the contiguous United States.

To Do
Activities include more than 800 miles of marked trails for every level
of hiker from beginner to advanced. Free ranger walks and talks, fishing,
horseback riding, photography, wildlife and bird watching. Attractions include
Moro Rock, Crystal Cave, Crescent Meadow, Sunset Rock, alpine meadows and
lakes. The surrounding San Joaquin Valley is a fertile agricultural area
producing a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. San Francisco, Los Angeles
and Monterey Bay are some of the destinations within a 6 hour drive of the
Lodge. Local cities provide shopping, movie theaters and dining experiences
within 1½ to 2 hour drive of the Lodge.

DNCPR at Sequoia is committed
to building a team of employees dedicated to providing a memorable guest
experience. Guest services and facilities are open 7 days a week. Accordingly,
schedules vary and employees can expect to be scheduled any day of the
week, including weekends and holidays.
Hourly pay ranges between $8.00
and $10.00. Full hookup RV sites are provided at a cost of $30.00/week per
site. Due to limited housing space, all sites should have an occupancy
of two.
Low cost employee meal program is provided at a cost of $3.25
- $3.50 per meal.
Be advised that work locations are in isolated, wilderness
settings at 7,000-9,000 feet elevation and although the park services provides
emergency services, the closest medical facility is 1½ hour drive.
Our
summer season runs from April 15 through the end of October. RV sites are closed for the winter season due to heavy snow.
